Most 123JILI Mahjong Ways questions come down to one thing: what happens between the spin that lands a win and the spin that ends the chain. PG Soft built the whole game around that gap. Here are its five rules, counted down from the frame to the feature, followed by the figures and two checks.
123JILI Mahjong Ways: Five Rules, Counted Down
Five: the frame. Five reels and four rows, evaluated as 1,024 ways rather than fixed paylines. Pay starts at reel 1 and runs rightward through touching reels holding the same symbol, row position ignored.
Four: the cascade. A winning combination clears away and new symbols drop into the gaps. One paid spin can therefore become several wins in a row before the reels settle.
Three: the wild tiles. Some tiles land in gold, and PG Soft’s rules turn them into Wilds. Those transformations are what sustain a cascade, since every fresh Wild gives the next drop another way to match.
Two: the Scatter count. Three Scatters award 12 free spins. Each Scatter after the third adds 2, so four Scatters mean 14 and five mean 16.
One: the climb. Inside free spins, wins are multiplied, and the multiplier rises with each cascade up to x10. Cascades within the round never knock it back down, so one unbroken chain outpays several brief chains of equal combined length.
Mahjong Ways Features in Numbers
What PG Soft publishes
| Item | Mahjong Ways |
|---|---|
| Grid | 5 reels, 4 rows |
| Ways | 1,024 |
| Session volatility | Medium |
| RTP | 96.92% |
| Maximum win | x25000 |
| Free spins | 12 from three Scatters; two more per extra Scatter |
| Free-spin multiplier | up to x10 |
Against JILI titles, whose pages print no RTP at all, this table is unusually complete. Every row can be checked against the game’s own info screen. Treat the 96.92% as a long-run average, and the x25000 as a cap that most sessions never approach.
Two checks before a real spin
- Is it the right tile? Among the lobby’s 33 SLOTS labels, none spells out PG Soft. Type the full name into Game Name and check the studio inside the game, because other studios publish mahjong-themed slots under similar names.
- Does the paytable match? If the info screen shows a different Scatter count or no x10 ceiling, you are looking at a different game. The mahjong ways sequel compared shows how far the second version moved.
Three misreads, fixed
- Problem: the balance jumped on a spin with no visible line. Fix: ways scoring reads symbols reel by reel from the left, so the paying set can be scattered over several rows.
- Problem: the multiplier seemed to vanish halfway through the round. Fix: check whether the round ended; inside free spins the climb does not fall back between cascades.
- Problem: four Scatters paid only 14 spins. Fix: that is the rule working, since 12 come with the first three and each extra Scatter adds 2.
One rule
Learn the climb in a practice mode if one is offered, and read the Mahjong Ways demo checks before trusting a “free play” site. Then compare it with the other titles in the PG Soft slots shortlist or go back to the 123JILI PG Soft overview. New players can follow the 123JILI register steps explained, which apply only to adults aged 21 or older.
How to Get Started
-
Three Scatters or more? Count them
Three Scatters give 12 free spins and each one beyond three adds 2 more. Note how many landed so you know what the round should hold.
-
Watch the multiplier, not the balance
Each cascade in the bonus round pushes the multiplier a step higher, as far as x10. Following it tells you more about the round than the running total does.
-
Close the game at your own limit
Decide the number of base spins before you open the tile. A Medium game can run long gaps between rounds, so the limit protects the budget.
